BERKOWSKI & CO. BALLOON DISCLAIMER

Berkowski & Co. use only the best quality balloons, but due to the fragile nature of balloon products, we will not be held responsible for the condition of such items after they have been handed over in good condition; we do not guarantee balloons once they have been delivered, picked up, or shipped. This includes but not limited to: damage, leakage, burst, improperly handled/transported/stored items, and environmental factors such as exposure to heat or cool temperatures, exposure to outdoor elements, sharp edges, ect.

We will replace anything popped or deflated in transportation or during setup.

We know some of the best celebrations can take part outdoors. We can appreciate that balloons may play an important role. However, weather and other conditions beyond our control will impact the longevity of any balloons; balloons will move with the wind, hide from the rain, and pop with the hot sun. We cannot guarantee that they will be able to sustain outdoor climates. Due to all the above, we do not guarantee balloons outdoors.

OUTDOOR/WEEKEND EVENTS

If you are hosting an outdoor Event, take extra precautions to extend the life of your balloons. Do not put out balloons until just before the Event. At the end of the take, bring balloons indoors so they are not out all night. As temperatures drop, balloons will shrink overnight and enlarge the next morning; this can cause them to pop.

Although bubble balloons are more durable than Latex or Mylar balloons, they are still prone to expanding and shrinking like any other balloon. This process may reduce the lifespan of the bubble balloon. Do not leave outdoors or overnight.

WEATHER/OUTDOORS

Balloons are just like us – they like nice calm days that are not too hot or cold, too humid or dry, and (at max) with barely a breeze. Conditions beyond these may affect the longevity and quality of balloons. Here are some tips and guides to get the best out of your balloons:

PLANTS AND ROCKS: Examples include twigs or branches from trees, rocks found on roads or sidewalks, or plants with thorns or prickly leaves. May pop balloons upon contact. Handle with care and avoid using balloon near these areas.

HEAT: Examples include direct sunlight from outdoor events, windows, or equipment that produce heat/hot exhaust. May pop balloons within an hour or cause bubble balloons to expand and deflate. Avoid heat.

COLD: Examples include air conditioning vent or during fall/winter times. May cause the air in balloons to shrink, reducing the size and/or float times of balloons. May cause bubble balloons to appear wrinkled. Avoid cold.

RAIN: May pop when it rains. Move balloons to a shelter or indoors.

WIND: Example includes a constant breeze passing around a balloon such outdoors wind or fans. Can increase the speed at which air escapes through the wall of a balloon – reducing inflating/float times and causing deflating. For maximum inflation/float times, keep balloons away from any type of breeze (indoors or outdoors).

BALLOON RELEASE

Do not release balloons outdoors. Balloons can tangle in electric lines and cause power failures or be ingested by animals causing long-term health issues and death. Berkowski & Co. does not sell balloons for or participates in balloon releases.

CARS AND TRANSPORTATION

It is important to get your balloons home or to your event as soon as possible. Balloons can pop when exposed to hot metal objects such as awnings, the outside of the car or seat-belt parts. Do not put balloons into a hot car or leave balloons in a hot parked car. We recommend turning on the air conditioning to reduce the car cabin temperatures before placing your balloons into the car. Do not leave a car unattended while it is turned on.

If air conditioning is not available, you may want to open your doors and allow the car to ‘air out’ for a few minutes. Traveling with your windows “partially” down so there is a cross breeze can be helpful. Balloons may escape if the window(s) are opened too far.

Large balloons like those used in our Party Ready! Giant LED Balloons take up a lot of space. Typically, only 5 to 10 fully assembled products may fit into the back of a car. For larger quantities, we highly recommend one of Event Packages, bringing a truck/van, or self-assemble on site.

BALLOON BAGS

Bags should be used for transport only, and balloons should be in the bag for no longer than an hour or so. Extended periods of time in bags can reduce the balloon float time.

LATEX BALLOONS

As latex balloons are biodegradable, it is normal that they (all colors and clear) oxidize and become cloudy (velvet/ not glossy) over time as they degrade. Heat, sun, and high humidity can accelerate this process. Latex balloons are not reusable. Please recycle.

MYLAR/FOIL BALLOONS

Mylar – sometimes called foil – balloons are made from plastic coated plastic. This gives them a shiny, reflective surface. Unlike Latex or Bubble balloons, mylar balloons cannot expand or stretch if filled with too much air or if they expand when subjected to heat; this may cause the balloon to deflate or pop. They are not biodegradable, and therefore should be disposed of immediately upon popping or deflation. Heat, sun, and high humidity can accelerate balloon degradation. Try to maintain a consistent temperature so they will not be damages.

Foil balloons can be reused if they have not been compromised; a simple search online will provide tutorials on how to do this.

BUBBLE BALLOONS

Bubble balloons, aka bobo balloons, are made from a transparent vinyl material. It is stretchy and may be more durable than latex and mylar balloons. However, bubble balloons are still balloons; they can deflate, pop, expand, and contract. Treat bubble balloons like any other balloon – use common sense and avoid sharp edges, weather, extreme conditions, ect. Bubble balloons cannot be reused. Discard in garbage any deflated, popped, or broken balloons.

NO GUARANTEE: Thanks to their thicker material, bubble balloons may be a more durable option to latex and mylar balloons. Gentle use and placement as decoration may help a balloon survive for days to weeks. However, we do not guarantee the lifespan of any bubble balloon once it leaves our care for any reason.

CAUTION: HELIUM

If helium is used for inflation, do not breathe helium from a balloon. Although helium is not toxic or flammable, breathing it can result is asphyxiation (loss of consciousness due to lack of oxygen).

Helium expands in the heat. Warm or hot temperatures can bring balloons down faster than their proper float time and may result in popping.

CAUTION: CHILDREN, PETS, AND ALLERGIES

PETS: If you live with pets, store your balloons in a room that they cannot access. When your pets are left to their own devices, they will have a ball playing with the strings and potentially puncturing the balloon itself. Keep all balloons and balloon products away from pets, since they may ingest popped balloons or get caught up in strings.

CHILDREN: Like pets, kids love balloons, but balloons and related products may pose a risk to their health and safety. Underinflated or burst balloons can present a choking hazard and should never be left with children without supervision. Children also love to see how much of a beating one can take before it goes pop! Do not let children aggressively play with balloons or hit animals and people with balloons.

ALLERGIES: We carry latex balloons, which may be unsafe for persons with a latex allergy. Symptoms of allergies may vary from minor skin irritation to anaphylaxis (a severe, life-threatening full body reaction which requires immediate medical attention). It is the responsibility of the buyer to use caution when purchasing and/or using latex products. Look out for symptoms and, if any reactions are suspected, seek immediate medical help. Foil and bubble ballon offer a non-latex alternative when choosing your balloons. Never use your mouth to blow up balloons; use a pump or low-pressure air compressor to blow up balloons.

WARNING: CHOKING AND SWALLOW HAZARD

WARNING: BALLOONS MAY POSE A CHOKING AND SWALLOW HAZARD, especially for children under 8 years and individuals prone to placing inedible objects in their mouths. Adult supervision required. Keep all balloons and related products from children and other individuals who require supervision. Discard any damaged or deflated products immediately, regardless of material types.
